Driver Mobile App

A route tool that feels like a real consumer app, not a warehouse dashboard.

Drivers start at 6 a.m., wear gloves, and run a dozen stops a day. The old dispatch tool fought them at every step. We built a mobile app that holds up next to the apps they already use on their own phones.

Biowaste Driver. Home and today's stops

Dispatch software built for desks, not trucks.

Drivers were juggling pickups, signatures, and manifests inside software written for back-office use. The interface ignored the job. Missed inventory turned into compliance risk. Every stop took longer than it should have.

The context

A dashboard is not a driver app.

Drivers kept zooming, scrolling, and re-entering data because the tool was never built for a truck cab. Gloves, glare, and tight timing were not part of the original brief.

Hold it to the standard of a rideshare app.

We set the bar at consumer apps. Apple Maps-grade routing, pill buttons sized for gloved hands, bottom sheets that carry one decision at a time. If a screen is not legible at a glance, it does not ship.

The shift
Biowaste Driver. Starting the shift flow
Biowaste Driver. Home with inventory pending
Two taps to start the day.

Drivers open the app and see the whole shift. Morning greeting, live map preview, 11 stops across 84 miles. Verify inventory, start the route. Everything non-essential waits its turn.

Biowaste Driver. Inventory with a discrepancy
One primary action per screen.

Every stop, every manifest, every sign-off has a single green button anchored at the bottom. No hunting, no ambiguity. Discrepancies surface in amber before the driver can confirm, so compliance fails loud, not silent.

Seven screens, tuned to the shape of the shift.

From the 6 a.m. greeting to the final signed receipt, every surface is built for a specific moment of the day. Timeline, stop detail, inventory, navigation, support. Each screen answers exactly what the driver needs next.

The surface

Biowaste Driver. Today's stops timeline
A timeline that actually reads.

Tabular figures, aligned arrival times, and clear status colors. Drivers see what is done, what is next, and what is running late without parsing a table.

Biowaste Driver. Full-bleed navigation
Navigation built for the cab.

Full-bleed labeled map with real street names, Apple Maps blue for the route, and a bottom sheet that carries the active stop. One Start navigation button sits squarely inside thumb reach.

Biowaste Driver. Stop complete
A clean close to every stop.

Stop complete shows a signed manifest, the next stop, and a break option. Compliance is captured the moment the pickup is done, not at the end of the shift.

Biowaste Driver. Support
Help that actually helps.

Support routes to the real on-road problems: hazard reporting, live dispatch, message ops, compliance email. Dispatch is on duty 24/7 with typical reply times under three minutes.

A driver app that holds up next to the apps they already use.

Drivers no longer switch context between work tools and real apps. The polish is the same. Shifts run smoother, manifests land correctly the first time, and compliance gaps close the moment a stop is signed.

The result
Biowaste Driver. On the road flow
Biowaste Driver. Working a stop
Consumer-app polish, operator-grade workflow.

Geist typeface. Tabular numerals on every data surface. OKLCH blue-grey neutrals that read native on iOS and Android. Underneath sits a proper dispatch workflow, signed manifests, and real-time compliance capture.

“It finally feels like the tool is working with us, not against us.”
